Guten Tag!
Its been an extreemly long time since I updated. I have been really busy working on a new website. It boasts of a full user managment system, with multiple, configurable user permission levels, an article managment system, and a soon enough a full automatic integration with an automatic credit card processing system.
Things are getting set for my trip to Germany this fall. The plane tickets are bought, the tuition payment is on its way, and I am on my way to learning the German language. I have been taking 1/2 hour road trips around Durango with my
Pimsleur's Quick and Simple German CD playing and me reciting the words, and having conversations with recorded people.
I recently found an feature in Mozilla Thunderbird that I could not resist. I finally took the plunge and started using a program to check my email instead of logging into the various web based email clients that I have for the four roles that I normally play in life: Family Member, Employee, Student, and Citizen (aka. my Family, Busisness, Student, and Website email addresses). The feature that made me convert? Message Threads. It is basically the only software implementation of the same idea that produced GMail's conversation based email UI. It works well, especially when the ability to specify a unique outgoing mailserver for each account -- something that is necessary to maintain GMail's conversation UI within its web based client.
I also added in an extension that allows me to use PGP to encrypt/decrypt my email messages. Check out my new and improved contact form.
